Node A-Team Year-end Review
#WeMade2020
As we reach an end of 2020, we thought it best to reflect upon some of the changes and achievements Node A-Team made to its ever-growing portfolio of projects.
It was an year, for most, remembered by a crippling pandemic, but it was also a year of great strides for Cosmos, Solana and other blockchain projects. We give our respect and thanks to the teams that trudged forward through under these difficult circumstances. It is only through the unrelenting efforts of these teams that us validators stand today, able to look back at the year with a smile.
Here are some of the note-worthy changes to the networks we validate for:
Cosmos
Stargate! IBC! 2020 was the year the core components of Cosmos was realized and implemented. We stayed up many a nights keeping up-to-date on the updates, but it was well worth it. Our kudos to all of our validating peers in keeping the Cosmos universe bustling with energy. We look forward to 2021 when all the pieces are in place for Cosmos to launch into space.
Solana
This was the year for Solana. With FTX, Serum, Kin and a hundred more applications coming onboard, Solana made strides in pace much like their network — incredibly fast and powerful. With just over 8 bn transactions, Solana is cementing itself to be the powerhouse standard for blockchains. Keeping up with Solana has been a challenge, but we’ve recently upgraded our node to encompass the ever-growing need for power Solana requires.
Matic Network
Matic team has been tirelessly working to deliver their promises, from forming new partnerships to on-boarding new validators. That is why we are honored to have been selected to become part of Matic Validator Advisory Board. The AMA we held with Matic at their telegram channel was a resounding success, and we got a good look at the excitement Matic holders had for the project.
Terra
Oh, what a year it has been for Terra. One of the most talked-about projects on this list, and there is a good reason behind that. Terra continues to launch projects after projects, and with the implementation of CosmWasm into Tendermint, came forth Mirror. Terra’s take on #DeFi with a synthetic asset twist, Mirror is as impressive as DeFi gets. Then there is BuzLink as well. We’re still waiting on Anchor, I hear it’s just around the corner.
IRISnet
We were ecstatic when we found out we were selected to become IRIS Rainbow Validator for October. IRIS has been hard at work at developing IRITA, and as an active participant in development of IBC. We thoroughly enjoyed watching IRIS at Interchain Conversations, and look forward to the upcoming developments.
OrbitChain
Orbit Chain has been steadily growing its roster of services, albeit on the low key. The number of services Orbit launched this year is mind-boggling, as it rivals that of Cosmos universe itself. We have been a proud participant of Orbit Chain ecosystem every step of the way, including the latest implementation of Orbit Bridge. We see a bright 2021 ahead for Orbit and its services.
Band Protocol
Now a household name, Band Protocol has been seen everywhere, whether it’s the integration of their Oracles, or setting up new partnerships. The team is impressively motivated and it’s now hard to find projects that are not working with them. We were with them every step of the way, and even saw our own API used in Band becoming what it is today. We’re proud of what the guys have done, and will continue to support them through 2021.
CertiK
One of the new names on our growing list of chains we validate for, we had the pleasure of participating (and successfully completing the missions) in the Testnet, and still continue to be part of Certik’s ecosystem. While the chain itself is still in its infancy, the name Certik certainly is well-known amongst the blockchain security circles. We have high hopes for what Certik will grow to be, and what we will be a part of.
Tardigrade
This one is still under wraps, but we are looking forward to what it is shaping up to be. Confio, the people behind CosmWasm, is set to debut their chain sometime next year — and we are currently participating in its Testnet. We’re very excited for the new #DeFi as defined by Confio.
All in all, 2021 looks to be another exciting year for the blockchain industry. Here’s a giant thank you to all the staff of the projects, and to the delegators for making it possible for us to be here. We look forward to all the projects achieving their goals, and wish everyone a warm holiday & happy new year.
